Sketch Of The Day

Sound Cloud Audio Clips

I’ve been making clips on Soundcloud and want to keep this blog interactive. I thought SoundCloud clips would be a great addition to the blog.  Take a listen to the clip and want to hear what you think.

It’s been a while since I shared some digital artwork.. I am working on a larger project and wanted to share some of the drafts before I start on the watercolour painting. I really enjoy food illustrations  and started drawing food, it’s something that I will keep up.  I want to give a shout out to one of my favourite food illustrators.. Kendyll is an illustrator from boston and shares some great drawings over on Tumblr and thought I would share her blog with everyone.

Art Software:

Here are the sites that I used for creating this sketch.  Corel Draw is a fantastic site for artists and photographers, it’s not as pricey as Adobe is and can  Sketchbook Pro allows you to add layers and its a really unique application.. another good thing about Corel and Sketchbook is the price. Adobe is great but its on the pricy side so was researching different alternatives and am pretty happy with Corel.

I’ve been learning how important photography and visual content is on a blog so I’ll be sharing what I learn along the way and hope that it’s helpful. My next post will share some photo editing tips on PicMonkey and iPhoto.

I love getting feedback before I move on to the next stage and want to hear what you think :0)  Yay or Nay?  Would love to hear from you. Lots of great stuff coming up.. stay tuned.

Talk soon,

  1. Hi Erin, nice pear 🙂 I’m not an artist (couldn’t draw well to save my life – I still draw stick people). I did a quick search since I thought I remembered something. I didn’t find what I was looking for, but I did find an open source alternative to CorelDraw that is actively maintained and popular. It is called Inkscape. Here is a link to some screenshots – . It may not be something you would be interested in, but the price is right (free).

    • Hi Bob, can’t wait to explore Inkscape.. thanks so much for sending the link my way 🙂 Free is a very good thing. If you ever come across any more links, let me know. Cheers Erin
